Brrr... It's cold!

So last week I was talking with my dad, who lives near Houston, and mentioned that it was cold here in Chicago. Innocently, he inquired, "Oh, how cold is it? Does it get below freezing at night?"

DOES IT GET BELOW FREEZING AT NIGHT?!?!?!?

Stunned, I responded, "Dad, it hasn't gotten above freezing during the day for weeks!!"

It's actually warmer today. High of 10 degrees farenheit. But that beats the -10 of a few days ago.

Stay warm, friends.

hahahah! I was saddened to find myself excited that next week the high MIGHT get up to freezing!

on a self-care note: I live and pastor in the suburbs. If you want to get out of the city, feel free to come visit! Also, I often take Friday afternoons to come into the city and go to the Art Institute. I can take one person free each time I go...if you want to wander around looking at art (with or without me), just email me! :-)

I recall my time in North Dakota for graduate school. There was an ongoing unofficial count up there...people would track how many days in a row they would go without getting above zero degrees Farenheit!

In contrast, Nebraska feels rather balmy!
