Today was a touring day. No meetings. Which meant lots of riding on the bus, lots of hopping off to listen to talks (some of which really are interesting), lots of walking around (but no wandering off), and lots of pictures (accompanied by lots of being yelled at because I was taking to long in framing great shots). So I am a little frustrated.
Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful to be here, to see what I am seeing, to meet such wonderful people, and to learn so much about this land. But I wanted to linger a little in Nazareth, get to know the city that was once the small village a man named Jesus called home. And, as we were running late, all we did was go to the Church of the Annunciation, take pictures, then rush to the Church of Joseph the Carpenter, take pictures, and hop on our bus to drive through Cana (we didn't even stop for wine!) to make it home for dinner. I don't like scheduled meals. Meal at prescribed times (especially while traveling) might just be sign of the Apocalypse.
Anyway, as I am talking about the end of the world (as we know it), I learned something quite fascinating at Tel Megiddo, the site of many famous battles throughout history, and according to the vision of John, will be the site of the final battle at the climax of history. Did you know that this Battle of Armageddon will actually be a thumb war? Yeah, I didn't know it either. Until today. Anyway, here is our (Sarah and Rachel's) pre-enactment of the eschatological battle to take place in the Valley of Armageddon (there in the background).

Erev tov. Good night.

No fair-- We'll be disadvantaged because we have short thumbs. Darn! Hope you continue to have a good time despite the bossy tour folks. H
